Yorkeys Knob Tours
The tropical wonderland of Yorkeys Knob is located only 13 kilometres north of Cairns CBD and is considered a suburb of Cairns. This beautiful suburb offers its visitors access to the Great Barrier Reef and all other interests within the Cairns region but allows them to experience these areas without having to stay within the hustle and bustle of Cairns City itself. While Yorkeys Knob is the perfect launching pad for the delights of Far North Queensland, the suburb also offers its own personal charm.
With clear, turquoise waters and golden-sanded beaches fringed by palm trees, Yorkeys is an archetypal paradise, so relaxing on the beach and taking long walks along the esplanade is a must. The main beach is patrolled and equipped with stinger nets, so you’ll be able to enjoy all the delights of the warm tropical waters, including swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling, kite surfing and wind surfing. The beach also provides barbeque facilities and the variety of shade trees – such as she-oak casuarinas, coconut palms, ballnuts and beach almonds – provide the perfect setting for a relaxed family picnic. The suburb is also a great spot for birdwatching, with a large population of sea eagles, kingfishers, masked lapwings, rainbow lorikeets and bush stone-curlews to spot. There’s no better place to stay while you explore Tropical Far North Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage Listed rainforest areas!
